Sorry this review is only just now coming up. Hopefully the delays that have been plaguing the site will soon come to an end. The Psyborg TV crowd-funding campaign is now up and running and the new site is almost completely built and only waiting on a web host. In the meantime, I will resume regular posting here. And what better way to begin regular posts than with a review of NBC’s Hannibal?

You all remember the storyline revolving around Dr. Gideon right? He was the guy that turned a nurse into a human pincushion with IV stands. That’s right, the one whom everybody thought was the Chesapeake Ripper. Well, turns out he really wasn’t and he’s suing the doctors treating him. This is just a ruse to get him out of the hospital though. You see once he, an orderly, and a police guard are on the road he manages to escape his restraints and string his companions organs all over the side of the road. It’s time for Graham and Crawford to reopen their case on Dr. Gideon. Only Will is not feeling too awfully well. Cold sweats, fever, and delusion follows him around all episode like a gray cloud over his head. As the FBI tracks Gideon down to an abandoned building where he is holding smut reporter Freddie Lounds hostage and using her to assist in an organ harvesting surgery on his still conscious psychiatrist, Will slips into complete dementia, hallucinating that Gideon is Garrett Hobbs (a man Will killed in the first episode). How does this bode for Will and Gideon? What happens when Gideon finally comes face-to-face with the real Chesapeake Ripper, Dr. Hannibal Lecter? You’ll have to watch the episode to find out.

Originality: 5/5 – every episode is a little different, twisted in their own little unique ways.
Story: 5/5 – the most well thought out serial killer show since Dexter and “Roti” sees us starting to tie things from previous episodes together.
Performances: 5/5 – Hugh Darcy may have actually driven himself insane for this role… just a theory.
Special Effects: 5/5 – best use of organs and depiction of them being used as ornaments in a prime time show.
Repeat Viewing: 5/5 – this is one of the best shows on TV and I could spend all day watching this season.
